As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’re the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. You make a positive difference every single day in the lives of our patients, their family members and visitors – going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect and compassion. The Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Department is a growing outpatient clinic with 13 exam rooms, caring for approximately 50 patients per day. Patients are typically seen 1-4 weeks before surgery for a history and physical, pre-operative testing, and other assessments such as bloodwork and EKGs. RNs play a key role in preparing and optimizing patients for surgery through comprehensive assessments and patient education. Nurses review pre-op instructions, answer questions, and work closely with techs and APPs to ensure patients are ready for their procedure. RNs also rotate through PAT phone calls, reviewing medications and obtaining a focused medical history prior to surgery. If you enjoy assessment, patient education, and helping patients feel confident and prepared for surgery, PAT could be a great fit for you!
