American Addiction CentersGreenfield, WI

About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Pre/Post Anesthesia provides safe, high‑quality nursing care to patients before and after anesthesia. This role uses the nursing process to deliver individualized, patient‑ and family‑centered care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to promote optimal outcomes, safety, and an excellent patient experience. The 84South ASC is a 54-bed unit over two floors, with one floor dedicated to procedural areas (Pain, GI, IR) and the other to OR cases (ENT, Ortho, Peds, General, Podiatry, GYN, & plastics). Patients are prepped and recovered in the same room, and there is no typical PACU area; patients return to the pre-op room after their procedure. Pre/Post Nurses may work on both floors throughout their shift depending on case volumes. Start times can be as early as 0500 and end times as late as 1900, with early and late shifts rotated among team members. As an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), strict admission criteria are followed to ensure patients are appropriate for the ASC setting. All RNs are ACLS and PALS certified. In emergencies, 911 will be called, and patients unable to discharge home are transferred to the hospital via ambulance. Pre-Post RNs are cross-trained in the Pre-admit area to perform pre-op phone calls. Scrubs are provided on site. The facility includes 8 OR rooms, 4 GI suites, 2 pain suites, and 2 IR suites, handling over 10,000 cases yearly.
