About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre-Assessment (PAT) position at Texas Health Plano is a part-time role focused on providing pre-assessment care to patients. The role is within the Surgery Ambulatory Department and emphasizes a supportive, collaborative nursing culture with strong leadership and teamwork. The department is part of a Magnet-designated organization committed to nursing excellence, evidence-based practice, professional development, quality outcomes, and patient-centered care. Texas Health Plano is a 386-bed full-service hospital serving North Texas, specializing in various medical services including emergency medicine, cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, women's services, behavioral health, an ICU, and advanced surgical services. It is a Level II Trauma Facility, holds Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal facility designations, and has a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program. The hospital is a four-time Magnet-designated facility, has the only AACN Beacon Gold adult ICU in the DFW area, is accredited by the Joint Commission in Hip and Knee Replacement, and is a Primary Heart Attack Center. The hospital also offers an on-site childcare center.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma in nursing required or Associate’s degree in nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • Other – CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • 1 year of experience as a registered nurse required
  • Recent PAT experience or Med Surge experience highly preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • Recent PAT experience or Med Surge experience highly preferred
