About The Position

United Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, the RN plays a critical part in preparing patients for surgical and procedural care by completing comprehensive pre-admission assessments, reviewing medical histories, coordinating required testing, and identifying potential risks to ensure safe, efficient care transitions. You will partner closely with providers, Ambulatory Surgery Center teams, and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient readiness and enhance the overall surgical experience. The PAT RN is responsible for clinical triage, patient education, and care coordination while ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards. This role supports a seamless continuum of care by proactively addressing patient needs prior to procedures, reducing delays and cancellations, and promoting positive outcomes. The RN practices in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, UHS policies, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics, while fostering a compassionate and supportive environment for both patients and team members.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • At least one year experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting.
  • Current NY State RN license.
  • Documentation of current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days employment.
