About The Position

The ChristianaCare Postpartum Unit (6M/7M) is a 72-bed inpatient unit that cares for postpartum patients and their stable newborns in the Women’s and Children’s Building on the Newark campus. The average length of stay is 2-3 days post birth and the unit supports rooming in and family centered care. A couplet care model is utilized so that an RN will be assigned both the delivered parent as well as the newborn as a portion of their overall assignment. A nursery is maintained primarily for emergency management or for short term convalescent care. Postpartum staff also support the care of newborns in our substance withdrawal program.

Requirements

BSN required or commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire
Two years of Acute Care experience strongly preferred
Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware
BLS certification required
NRP preferred or must be obtained upon hire

Experience in women's & children's services preferred
