About The Position

Registered Nurses are accountable for providing safe and reliable patient care in accordance with policy and procedure, CMS standards and regulations, and Joint Commission standards and regulations. This involves identifying patient care requirements, establishing a compassionate environment, promoting patient independence through education, and ensuring quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards. Nurses will resolve patient problems by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies, maintain a safe and clean working environment, and protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. They will document patient care services accurately, maintain continuity among nursing teams, and keep patient information confidential. Additionally, nurses will ensure the operation of equipment, maintain professional and technical knowledge, complete Nursing History and Assessment accurately within 24 hours of admission, and determine and deliver age-appropriate care. They are expected to delegate duties based on patient needs, utilize critical thinking skills in prioritizing care, develop and maintain individualized plans of care, coordinate and collaborate with the healthcare team, and incorporate discharge planning needs. Documentation must be accurate, pertinent, timely, and legible. Nurses must administer medications observing the "6 rights" and maintain a Barcode Override rate below 10%. They will administer medication correctly based on the patient's age and clinical condition and include patients, caregivers, and disciplines in care and health teaching. The ability to supervise staff members who provide direct patient care and practice within the scope of their license is essential. As a Studer Group Partner, Registered Nurses must develop a full understanding of Studer Group practices and tools and communicate them effectively, embracing the Studer Philosophy and Principles by conducting themselves professionally. Registered Nurses will be held accountable to the following Studer Philosophies and Principals: HCAHPS Patient Perception, Hourly Rounding with Intention, Bedside Shift Report, AIDET, and Daily Huddles.

Requirements

• Current license by the state of Kentucky or hold license in a compact state as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) must be current.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS preferred.
• One year experience in Nursing/Surgery preferred.
• Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifying patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.

• Maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
• Protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
• Documenting patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Maintaining continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintaining patient confidence and protecting operations by keeping information confidential.
• Ensuring operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Completes Nursing History and Assessment accurately within the 24 hours of admission.
• Determines and delivers age appropriate care.
• Delegates duties based on complexity of patient needs.
• Utilization of critical thinking skills in prioritization of care.
• Develops, prioritizes, updates and maintains individualized plan of care.
• Coordinates and collaborates Plan of Care with health care team.
• Incorporates Discharge planning needs on the Plan of Care.
• Documents interventions that are accurate, pertinent, timely and legible.
