About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in Suffolk, VA. This is an 8 Bay Unit that recovers patients from the OR, Endo, Cath, and IVR. The position involves an 8-hour shift, 5 days a week, with on-call duties including 2 overnights per pay period, 2 consecutive weekends of call, and one holiday per year. Sentara Obici Hospital is a 175-bed state-of-the-art facility located in Suffolk, VA, recognized as an accredited Primary Stroke Center and a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence. It specializes in various services including orthopedics, spine, heart and vascular, advanced imaging, breast services, behavioral health, maternity, and weight loss surgery.

Requirements

• Registered nursing License (Required)
• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
• PALS within 1 year of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care nursing (preferred)
• PACU/Procedural experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• Adhere to the standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
• Uphold the standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
