This is a Registered Nurse position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Seattle Children's. The PICU has 40 beds with 8 additional expansion beds dedicated to pediatric critical care for specialized treatments like tracheotomy, CRRT, vents, organ transplant, and bone marrow transplant, with research and ECMO services available. The role involves providing safe, family-centered patient care using the Nursing Care Process, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team. The RN may also supervise and delegate tasks to other healthcare support staff. The position supports Seattle Children's strategic goals by incorporating initiatives like Continuous Performance Improvement, Value Based Behaviors, Error Prevention, Patient Safety, and Workforce Community and Connection into daily work. The role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for experienced RNs, and training for those new to pediatrics. A strong team of clinical educators and preceptors provide support, with a typical training period of 10 weeks or more.
