About The Position

Morristown Medical Center's Registered Nurse Periop Fellowship Residency Program is a one-year program focused on building a solid foundation for a career in Operating Room nursing. The program is integrated with AORN’s Periop 101 program, which includes online courses, instructor-led classes, and a skills lab. This is followed by a 6-month rotation in both the Scrub and Circulator Nurse roles. Upon successful completion of modules and the final exam, participants will be awarded a Periop 101 certificate with 40 continuing education credits.

Requirements

Non-BSN graduates will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of employment.
All participants are asked to agree to a 2-year employment commitment at Atlantic Health System.
An official transcript and two letters of recommendation from nursing instructors will be required once you are in the interview process.

Responsibilities

Participate in AORN’s Periop 101 program, including online courses, instructor-led classes, and a skills lab.
Complete a 6-month rotation in the Scrub Nurse role.
Complete a 6-month rotation in the Circulator Nurse role.
Achieve a Periop 101 certificate with 40 continuing education credits upon successful completion of modules and final exam.
