About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in the Peri-operative department located in Atlanta, GA. The role involves assessing patients' physical and emotional health prior to surgical procedures, collaborating with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to create surgery plans, and preparing surgical rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and sterile solutions. The nurse will ensure patient comfort and understanding of the surgical process, administer medications including anesthesia, and monitor vital signs while maintaining accurate patient records. Responsibilities also include assisting the surgical team during procedures, providing post-operative care such as monitoring recovery and managing pain, and educating patients and families about postoperative care. Maintaining a safe, sterile environment and following infection control procedures are crucial.

Requirements

Min of 2 years of experience within specialty
Required BLS
Required ACLS
Required NIHSS

Responsibilities

Assess patients physical and emotional health prior to surgical procedures
Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to create a surgery plan for the patient
Prepare surgical rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and sterile solutions
Ensure that the patient is comfortable and understands the surgical process
Administer medications, including anesthesia, under the direction of an anesthesiologist
Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Assist surgical team during the procedure by passing instruments and other sterile supplies
Provide post-operative care, which includes monitoring patients recovery and managing pain
Educate patient and family about postoperative care, including medications, diet, and physical activity
Ensure patient safety by maintaining a clean, sterile environment and following infection control procedures
