About The Position
Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent RN experience in a Pediatric Transitional Care Unit
- Previous experience caring for pediatric cardiac or congenital heart disease patients.
- Experience managing patients with complex chronic medical conditions
- Knowledge of congenital heart defects and common postoperative cardiac surgical and cath care.
- The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Current PALS and BLS for healthcare provider CPR certifications.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors.
- Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.
