About The Position

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide pediatric nursing care on a per diem night schedule. The nurse delivers individualized, safe, high-quality care guided by current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care. The role includes communicating with patients and healthcare colleagues, administering medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies, maintaining electronic point-of-care documentation, educating patients and families, and coordinating patient discharges to support safe transitions and continuity of care.

Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey nursing license.
Active American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
At least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience.
BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire a BSN within three years of hire.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
Accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers.
Strong teamwork, dedication to ongoing education, and commitment to high-quality, patient-focused care.

Nice To Haves

PALS certification strongly preferred.
IV certification strongly preferred.
National certification preferred.
Telemetry certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing practices based on current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to provide safe, excellent, individualized patient care.
Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations of care in the point-of-care electronic record.
Educate patients and families to support health, wellness, and disease management.
Coordinate multidisciplinary patient discharges to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care.
