This is a casual status position supporting Slinger clinic needs in Pediatrics, Family Practice, and Dermatology. The hours will vary based on clinic needs, which operate from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with action taken as needed. Medication administration, treatment, and therapy administration are part of the role, adhering to clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Professional development, required education, and maintaining certifications are expected. The nurse must adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics, practice ethical decision-making, respect interdisciplinary roles, and contribute to integrated, unbiased patient care. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and personnel is required. Accurate and timely EHR documentation is mandatory. The role may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess and interpret data for age-specific needs.
