About The Position

This role involves leading a Licensed Registered Nurse team in an Operating Room setting, focusing on coordinating staffing, patient assignments, and workflow to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. The position requires assessing patient care needs, coordinating direct patient care, and providing leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to nursing and support staff. The supervisor is responsible for meeting daily service line needs, supporting the team through education and facilitation, and partnering with leadership to drive unit goals, safety initiatives, patient and physician satisfaction, and foster a positive team culture.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • 2+ years OR RN experience with Pediatric OR RN experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead Licensed Registered Nurse team operations by coordinating staffing, patient assignments, and workflow to deliver safe, high-quality patient care throughout each shift.
  • Assess patient care needs and coordinate direct patient care assignments, ensuring appropriate care delivery and positive outcomes for diverse patient populations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to nursing and support staff while promoting clinical excellence, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring daily service line needs are met, supporting the team through education, precepting, facilitating daily workflow, and equipment/supply needs.
  • The OR supervisor aligns and partners with leadership in driving unit goals, safety/quality initiatives, patient and physician satisfaction, and in supporting a positive team culture.
