About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Operating Room at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX. The position is full-time, 36 hours per week, with a night schedule of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. The nurse will provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, coordinate patient care with the interdisciplinary team, perform circulating nurse responsibilities including patient monitoring and documentation in the EHR, and provide scrub nurse support by maintaining sterile technique and assisting surgeons.

Requirements

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
1+ year OR RN experience

Responsibilities

Deliver Operating Room Registered Nurse care by providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Coordinate patient care and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support efficient surgical workflows, clear communication, and high-quality clinical outcomes.
Perform circulating nurse responsibilities by monitoring patient status, documenting care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.
Provide scrub nurse support by maintaining sterile technique, preparing instruments, and assisting surgeons to promote procedural efficiency and patient safety.
