About The Position

This opportunity is located in Northern Arizona, in Chinle, AZ, near Canyon de Chelly National Monument. The Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) is a 60-bed hospital serving as the healthcare hub for the region, providing care to approximately 37,000 active users. The facility offers a range of services including Adult Intensive Care, General Surgery, Obstetrics, and 24-Hour Emergency Room Services. The role involves alleviating the healthcare shortage in an underserved region with a significant Native American population (Navajo and Hope). The area offers excellent outdoor recreational opportunities and a rich cultural experience.

Requirements

• Must hold a degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated state accrediting agency at the time of completion.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in pediatric inpatient care.
• Current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
• Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a provider recognized by the American Heart Association.
• Must have a current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from a provider recognized by the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS/NPR/TNCC certification is preferred.
• Nurse Specialty certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a full range of Pediatric medical-surgical care to patients admitted to the Pediatric Care Unit (PCU).
• Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care, addressing the physical, spiritual, and socio-cultural needs of pediatric patients.
• Apply knowledge of nursing theories and biological aspects of diseases to identify complications and implement therapeutic interventions.
• Administer medications, recognizing their effects and potential side effects.
• Work harmoniously with healthcare team members, patients, and families to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to safety management reporting requirements as per the Service Unit Safety Measure Policy.
• Guide and assist other staff with clinical decisions and ensure unit compliance with quality checks and narcotic inventory management.
