About The Position

The registered nurse utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of pediatric inpatient oncology experience as a registered nurse
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Active American Heart Association CPR certification
  • Active American Heart Association PALS certification

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two (2) or more years of pediatric in-patient oncology or BMT experience as a registered nurse
  • APHON certification within 6 months of start date

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors.
  • Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.
