About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX. The position is full-time and involves night shifts. The nurse will be responsible for delivering rapid, evidence-based ED nursing care and critical interventions for adult and pediatric populations, managing care plans and documentation, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and facilitating patient transitions.

Requirements

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transferdate required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Deliver rapid, evidence-based ED nursing care and critical interventions for adult and pediatric populations in strict compliance with clinical protocols.
Implement tailored emergency care plans, continuously monitoring and documenting acute status changes in fast-paced environments.
Serve as the primary liaison across trauma, pediatric, and specialized clinical teams to ensure seamless, well-coordinated patient care.
Assess acute discharge or transfer needs, coordinating with healthcare teams to facilitate safe, efficient patient transitions.
