About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX. The position is full-time, with day shifts. The nurse will perform scrub and circulating duties, maintain sterile technique, ensure patient safety, and document care in the EHR. They will coordinate patient care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to achieve positive surgical outcomes and procedural efficiency. The nurse will also assess and monitor patient condition during cardiovascular procedures, communicating critical updates for timely clinical decision-making and quality patient care. Additionally, they will prepare operating rooms, instruments, and specialized equipment to ensure procedural readiness, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• CVOR RN experience with pediatric CVOR RN experience a plus
• 5 plus years OR RN experience

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and circulating duties while maintaining sterile technique, patient safety, and accurate clinical documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Coordinate patient care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to support positive surgical outcomes and procedural efficiency.
• Assess and monitor patient condition throughout cardiovascular procedures, communicating critical updates to support timely clinical decision-making and quality patient care.
• Prepare cardiovascular operating rooms, surgical instruments, and specialized equipment to ensure procedural readiness, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
