About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool. This position involves working 3x12-hour night shifts per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week. The role requires working every other weekend and participating in holiday rotations. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:3. Clinicians will float within their scope to meet facility needs, including all Pediatric units at SJCH (CVPICU, NICU, PICU). First-time travelers are accepted if they possess the required experience. All RTO must be submitted at the time of submission, with approval based on unit needs. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. If this is an issue, travelers should not confirm new or extended assignments during this period.

Requirements

2 years of Peds ICU experience.
South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License.
BLS certification.
PALS certification (American Heart Association only for MUSC).
Must submit all RTO at time of submission.
Must be aware of potential reassignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season.

Nice To Haves

ECMO experience.
CRRT experience.
Block schedule accommodation (requires manager approval and is dependent on unit needs).

Responsibilities
