RN Procedures - Pediatric Cardiology - Children's Specialty Clinic
About The Position
Sanford Children's Specialty Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our outstanding Pediatric Cardiology team. The role is responsible for the coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other interventions. This position requires excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and triage the needs of patients and the practice. The nurse will occasionally work in emergent patient care situations requiring critical thinking and prompt assessment skills. Responsibilities include performing age-related patient assessment and intervention, as well as scheduling tests and interventions per provider order. The role utilizes the professional nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients across the age continuum in an ambulatory setting, caring for patients in all phases of specific states including assessment, disease maintenance, treatment, and follow-up as patients move between inpatient and outpatient settings. The nurse must have working knowledge of electronic medical records and may work with or participate with or without a provider in the hospital and on hospital patients, and take call with the provider, as needed. The position requires collaboration with providers and delivering appropriate assistance during surgical and non-surgical procedures. The nurse must be skilled in assessment and triage of patients with various conditions and devices, both in person and via electronic communication.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific licensure, competencies and certifications.
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records.
