About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in Pediatric Acute Care at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. The position is full-time, night shift. The nurse will be responsible for clinical care and assessment of pediatric patients on 3rd and 4th floor units, administering specialized interventions, communicating with families, collaborating with care teams, coordinating care, and mentoring new staff.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs, perform clinical assessments, and manage pediatric care across 3rd and 4th floor units.
• Administer medications, chemotherapy, biotherapy, central line care, NG tubes, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and phlebotomy.
• Explain care plans clearly to families and advocate for patient-centered pediatric care.
• Collaborate with specialists, physicians, and care teams; support rapid response and safety protocols.
• Manage shift assignments, admissions, discharges, and patient workflow.
• Orient and precept new nursing staff and associates.
