About The Position

The BCH Oakland Infusion Center serves the Pediatric Specialty population at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. The treatments include, but are not limited to, apheresis, chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, hydration and electrolyte therapy, injections and blood draws, enzymes and iron infusions, and antibiotics. The center consists of 14 chairs/beds and treatments include research and standard of care infusions. The infusion centers are staffed by Nurses, Medical Assistant, and a Practice Coordinator. This position requires the incumbent to utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with complex needs. Manages patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. Recognized as a leader and clinical resource. Demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the practice and the organization.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
  • Experience in pediatric hematology/oncology.
  • Proficiency in the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
  • Ability to manage patient care administered by other team members.
  • Leadership and clinical resource skills.
