UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are recognized nationally for their pediatric care. This Nurse Practitioner role will serve as a frontline provider for Hematology, Oncology & BMT patients at Benioff Children’s Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland, working 10-12-hour AM & PM shifts. The position may flex to outpatient care when operationally necessary. The Nurse Practitioner will function as an independent member of the team, responsible for the safe delivery of care to inpatient pediatric Hematology, Oncology & BMT patients, meeting productivity expectations and performing all duties related to patient care activities. UCSF Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice providers (APPs) who are licensed, certified, and possess the necessary education, knowledge, skills, and experience to deliver evidence-based patient care within their practice area. They provide a range of care, including routine, acute, critical, and specialty care, as authorized by their granted privileges and standardized procedures. This may include performing invasive procedures and acting as an operative first assist. UCSF NPs adhere to California regulations and UCSF Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Policies, and are authorized to exercise privileges granted by the Committee on Interdisciplinary Practice (CIDP), Executive Medical Board (EMB), and Governance Advisory Council (GAC). They are expected to provide care that meets the applicable standard of care. APPs working at facilities outside of UCSF Medical Center and Clinics must also comply with those facilities' regulations, credentialing, privileging, and policies.
