This role involves managing and monitoring telemetry and critically ill patients with acute conditions such as heart failure, myocardial infarctions, acute strokes, and recovery from ablation or catheterization procedures. The nurse will administer cardiac medications, manage vasoactive drips, and assist with newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators. Key responsibilities include conducting frequent, in-depth physical and neurological assessments, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, physical therapists, discharge planners) for optimal patient outcomes, coordinating unit workflow, delegating tasks to Patient Care Techs (PCTs), and serving as a clinical resource for staff development.
