About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the PCU provides care for a mixed acuity unit, responsible for patients with Intermediate Care acuity, Tele, and MedSurg. Will handle patients admitted directly from the ER or post-procedures and surgeries such as MI, CHF, Dysrhythmia, and others.
Requirements
- Minimum 1.5 years of general nursing experience, 1 year specific to PCU
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Completion of a board-approved nursing education program; must be a Registered Nurse licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Skills in PCU level care, Cardiac procedural recovery, and titratable cardiac/vasoactive gtts
Responsibilities
- Provide care for direct admits, ED admits, and post-procedure patients
- Manage MI pharmacology and Cardiac procedural recovery
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage chest tubes
