About The Position
The position involves providing nursing care for patients in a Progressive Care Unit with a mixed unit type, including Med/Surg to IMC level, and caring for varying acuity levels.
Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year PCU nursing experience
- EPIC experience required
- Comfortable with MedSurg assignments and the titration of medications such as Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed
Responsibilities
- Administer oral, IV, IM, and SQ medications, titratable vasoactive drips, TPN/tube feeding, and blood product transfusions
- Manage peripheral IV, midline, PICC and central line access, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, drains, urinary and fecal collection devices
- Provide preventative and restorative skin and wound care
- Read and interpret telemetry monitoring
