Registered Nurse - Patient Educator (PRN) Immediate Openings - Fargo, ND
About The Position
Abbott’s Diagnostics business is seeking a current Registered Nurse to provide personalized face-to-face training to Acelis Connected Health customers who conduct home testing. Training covers obtaining a finger-stick blood sample, operating PT/INR products, and fulfilling test-reporting responsibilities. The trainer arranges appointments with customers or caregivers and travels to customers’ homes within the general geographic area of the trainer’s home. The position is per-diem and location-specific. The posted opening is in Fargo, North Dakota. The role requires completion of assigned educational prerequisites, health-screening documentation, and web-based and interactive training. Candidates must successfully complete a consumer report/background check and pre-employment drug screening. Trainers need computer and smart-device proficiency, a personal laptop or desktop computer to complete company requirements if needed, printer access, and basic website and application troubleshooting skills. The role requires reliable transportation and a minimum of 100 miles of round-trip travel.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license/status.
- Clinical experience.
- Reliable transportation.
- Computer and smart-device proficiency.
- Own a personal laptop or desktop computer to complete company requirements if needed.
- Access to a printer.
- Proficiency in basic website and application troubleshooting using a smart device.
- Complete assigned educational prerequisites.
- Provide proof of health-screening documentation.
- Complete web-based and interactive training provided by Acelis Connected Health.
- Successfully complete a consumer report/background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Travel a minimum of 100 miles round trip.
- No lifting over 15 pounds is required without assistance.

Responsibilities
- Arrange training appointments remotely with customers or caregivers.
- Travel to customers’ homes within the trainer’s general geographic area.
- Demonstrate and instruct customers and/or caregivers in proper use and care of PT/INR equipment.
- Explain test-reporting options.
- Communicate and present oneself professionally.
- Accurately document and submit patient training records electronically.
- Maintain communications with Acelis Connected Health by cell phone, email, and internet access.
- Use secure encrypted email when communicating information that includes customers’ protected health information (PHI).
