Registered Nurse Patient Care Unit (PCU), PRN
About The Position
Vail Health is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for its 38-bed Patient Care Unit, the hospital’s largest inpatient unit. The PCU serves a diverse population of medical and surgical patients of all ages, including local community members and visitors. Nurses provide expert, compassionate, individualized care to patients and families and collaborate with providers, staff, and other team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The team uses a unified staffing model with consistent patient assignments across day and night shifts, supported by engaged leadership available 24/7. The position is described as requiring three 12-hour shifts every six weeks, including one night shift. PRN and night-shift differentials are available. Affordable PRN condo housing is available across the street from the hospital. The PCU offers a state-of-the-art environment with mountain views, in-room physical and occupational therapy, collaborative team rounding, and bedside care. PRN (pool) benefits include wellbeing reimbursement funds and eligibility for a 403(b) contribution.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license in Colorado or a valid compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least an Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.
- Passion for compassionate, patient- and family-centered care.
Nice To Haves
- PCU or Med-Surg nursing experience is preferred.
