Our Palliative Care and Hospice teams work together to provide holistic, patient-centered care that supports patients and families through some of life's most challenging moments. As a Palliative Care and Hospice RN, you will partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, chaplains, therapists, and case managers to ensure patients receive compassionate, coordinated care. Whether helping a patient better manage symptoms and improve quality of life through palliative care services or guiding families through a hospice admission, you'll play a critical role in ensuring every patient receives care that reflects their goals and wishes. This role offers the unique opportunity to impact patients throughout their healthcare journey while building meaningful relationships and supporting informed decision-making.

Requirements

Current RN License in state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).
RNs with less than 12 months of experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within four years of hire.
Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record if travel is required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in Palliative Care, Hospice, Oncology, Case Management, Critical Care, Medical-Surgical Nursing, or Care Coordination.
Experience conducting patient and family education, goals-of-care discussions, and care transition planning.
Strong assessment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, chaplains, therapists, and case managers to ensure patients receive compassionate, coordinated care.

Guide families through a hospice admission.
