About The Position

Join a mission-driven, community-focused hospital with convenient suburban access and easy parking. Our fast-paced PACU supports surgery, endoscopy, and pain management across 3–4 ORs, 3 endoscopy suites, and 2 pain suites. The unit includes an 11-bay Pre-Op area, a 14-bay PACU, and up to 7 additional Pre-Op bays, with dedicated support for Interventional Radiology. We offer specialty certification reimbursement, an optional clinical ladder, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - Nursing (Required)
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire. (Required)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience in ED/ICU/Critical Care (Required)
  • Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
  • Registered Nurse Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in PACU or a similar setting is preferred
  • ACLS PALS must be obtained within six months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing patient/family assessments and document per guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on patient needs and expected outcomes.
  • Provide safe, ethical, patient-centered care while supporting dignity, diversity, and autonomy.
  • Prioritize care based on patient condition and unit needs.
  • Safely administer medications and treatments; perform technical skills per policy.
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and revise plans in collaboration with the care team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Supervise delegated tasks and ensure quality care delivery.
  • Participate in organizational activities such as committees, staff meetings, and unit initiatives.
  • Support student learning and staff development; serve in leadership roles as needed.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and self-assessment.
  • Build collaborative, collegial relationships across the healthcare team.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for process improvement.
