About The Position
The PACU RN provides high-acuity post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions in an acute care setting.
Requirements
- Active California RN License – Required
- Minimum 2 years inpatient PACU experience – Required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS – Required
- Strong critical care and post-anesthesia recovery skills
- Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ventilated patients and arterial lines preferred
- Travel experience preferred (first-time travelers not accepted)
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients in Phase I and Phase II recovery
- Manage airway, ventilation, and hemodynamic stability
- Administer medications and manage pain control
- Identify and respond to post-anesthesia complications
- Collaborate with surgical and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide patient and family education
- Document care in compliance with hospital standards
- Assist with pre- and post-procedure care
