About The Position

The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. This role is a Full Time Days Recovery position in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at the Yale Campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of related critical care experience and involves a 3/12's schedule (Mon, Wed, Fri; 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) with call rotation required. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to care for patients, assessing and organizing patient care with consideration for age, cultural, and psychosocial factors. They document nursing process steps, utilize proper medical terminology, address problems and progress toward goals, and facilitate patient discharge through appropriate referrals and patient education. Collaboration with other disciplines and support of unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities are also key responsibilities. This position involves independent judgment in decision-making, coordination of activities of others (without direct supervision), and input on performance evaluations. The role involves direct interaction with patients, internal and external customers, other healthcare professionals, and individuals at the Director level or above.

Requirements

  • Completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
  • Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
  • Minimum of 2 years of PACU, critical care or emergency department related experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of PACU, critical care or emergency department related experience is preferred.
