About The Position

Precision Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking an experienced PACU Recovery RN to support patients as they wake from anesthesia and begin their recovery journey. This role is for a busy, patient-focused Orthopedic Surgery Center in Laurel, MD. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves using critical-thinking skills, and enjoys helping patients feel safe and supported after surgery.

Requirements

• Current RN license (MD)
• PACU, ICU, ED, or critical care experience strongly preferred
• BLS ACLS preferred
• Strong assessment and airway-management skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with orthopedic post-operative care is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-anesthesia care for orthopedic surgical patients
• Monitor airway, vital signs, pain levels, and overall stability
• Administer medications for pain and nausea
• Manage oxygen therapy, IV fluids, and post-op interventions
• Assess surgical sites, dressings, immobilizers, and drains
• Support patients recovering from regional anesthesia and nerve blocks
• Educate patients and families on post-op care and discharge instructions
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative staff
