Registered Nurse – Outpatient – Triage – General Surgery and Bariatrics
About The Position
Join the dedicated team at IU Health North Hospital’s General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery Clinic, where collaboration, compassionate care, and patient-centered service are at the heart of everything we do. In this RN role, you will triage pre-operative and post-operative patient calls, provide clinical guidance and support, and coordinate care with various hospital departments to ensure patients receive timely specialty treatments and services. Located within the hospital, our team benefits from convenient access to collaborating departments, an on-site pharmacy, and a cafeteria, creating a connected and supportive work environment. Following orientation, the role offers a hybrid work schedule. We are seeking a collaborative RN who enjoys working closely with providers and supporting patients throughout their surgical journey.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of RN experience
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
- Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
- Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies
- Ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner
- Awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse
Nice To Haves
- Experience with bariatric or surgical patients
- Two years experience in an ambulatory setting
