About The Position

As a Registered Nurse in the OBS clinic, you will be part of a health care team that promotes patient/family centered care and puts the patient at the center of the decision making process. As a registered nurse, you will be expected to provide care for patients in antepartum clinic with medication/blood product administration, early pregnancy assessment clinic consultations, postpartum clinic assessments and health teaching of postpartum women up to 6 weeks postpartum. Communicating with their Primary Care Physician and OB/GYN on call, Social Worker and Lactation Consultant. Colposcopy clinic assisting GYN with biopsies and procedures and labelling specimens and in Early pregnancy assessment clinic gathering patient history, results, counseling and communicating with OB/GYN, Social Worker, Chaplain and pathology.

Requirements

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses
  • Current BCLS certification
  • 2 years experience and ability to work independently in Post Partum
  • NRP certification mandatory
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to a patient/family centred care environment
  • Demonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independently
  • Well developed organization, communication, interpersonal and teaching skills
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, Standards of Care, health and safety legislation, best practice, and completing relevant mandatory education as required

Responsibilities
