About The Position

Description of position: Responsible to provide direct patient care for patients in the Out-Patient Infusion unit, including patient assessment and treatment under an approved protocol. Is competent in venipuncture and central line access procedures.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience or equivalent is required
• RI State Licensure is also required
• Current Basic Life Support Certification is required
• The ONS Chemo Basics Course is required within 1 month of hire
• The ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Administration Certification is required prior to administration of chemotherapy agents and renewal is required every 2 years
• If the RN does not have OCN, then the RN will maintain 36 CEUs in oncology per accreditation cycle care to satisfy the oncology Commission on Cancer accreditation
• If or when ONC is achieved, the RN will be responsible to maintain the OCN only

Nice To Haves

• OCN Certification through ONCC is preferred
