This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Outpatient CV Subspecialty Clinics, primarily focused on Pulmonary Hypertension, but may also involve other specialties within the Division of Circulatory Failure. The nurse will provide care to ambulatory patients, collaborate with the care team for efficient and comprehensive patient care (both face-to-face and non-face-to-face), manage ongoing patient care, and document interactions. Protocols will be used to streamline care. The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care, supporting professional nursing practice across settings and the continuum of care. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, adhering to the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating nursing care, delegating patient care based on skill, experience, acuity, fiscal accountability, and resources. The role also involves leadership activities such as precepting, informal/formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills are expected, with potential participation in committees or projects. New graduate nurses should apply through the Nurse Residency Program. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship, requiring state licensure and VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
