Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedic Operating Room
About The Position
Hartford Healthcare's Bone and Joint Institute is seeking dedicated, passionate Registered Nurses to join their team. This role functions as a Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room, providing individualized, professional patient care in accordance with hospital and AORN, ASPAN, and SGNA standards. The Bone and Joint Institute specializes in surgical interventions for orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, including fracture repairs, joint replacements, spine surgeries, and more. Nurses will work in a state-of-the-art facility with a specialized team and have opportunities for cross-training, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Requirements
- Current active CT RN License
- Previous OR experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Independent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills

- BSN Preferred
- CNOR certification preferred
- OR Novice nurses may apply to the OR Nurse Transition to Practice Program
Responsibilities
- Functions as Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room.
- Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care to patients within the Operating Room.
- Provides nursing care in accordance with the objectives, policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital and AORN, ASPAN and SGNA standards.
- Participates in patient teaching; incorporates the needs and behavior of the patient’s specific age/cultural groups in planning and providing care.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Cross train to the scrub nurse role if desired.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration on research and best practices.
