Registered Nurse - Ortho
About The Position
We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedics to work 3x12-hour shifts, days, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with every other weekend rotation. This role requires flexibility with scheduling, awareness of the client's zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences, and knowledge of a mandatory Pass/Fail EKG exam for all RNs. The position involves caring for pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic patients, including those undergoing elective procedures and orthopedic trauma. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6, with a possible stretch to 1:7. Experience with Total Hip, Knee, and Shoulder Replacements and Repairs, Ortho Trauma, Safe Patient Handling equipment, and Ortho equipment such as CPM, Knee Immobilizer, and Bone Foam is required. Proficiency in EPIC is also necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- No first-time travelers.
- BLS required.
- EPIC required.
- Orthopedic and Trauma Experience required.
- Specialize in pre-op and post-op ortho.
- Experience with Total Hip, Knee, and Shoulder Replacements and Repairs.
- Experience with Ortho Trauma.
- Experience with Safe Patient Handling equipment.
- Experience with Ortho equipment including CPM, Knee Immobilizer, Bone Foam, and others.
Nice To Haves
- ACLS preferred.
- Eve during the holiday period.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for orthopedic patients.
