About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Ortho Trauma department at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. The position is full-time, working nights with three 12-hour shifts per week, including every third weekend. The nurse will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans, monitoring patient conditions, and communicating changes to the interdisciplinary team. They will also act as the primary care coordinator, interpret and execute physician and nursing orders, and assess and coordinate patient discharge needs.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans while continuously monitoring, recording, and communicating changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary team.
• Act as the primary care coordinator across all specialties and disciplines to ensure cohesive, well-integrated patient care.
• Accurately interpret, transcribe, and execute physician and nursing orders in a timely manner.
• Assess, plan, and coordinate patient discharge needs in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and their families.
