About The Position

Registered Nurse - MedSurg Tele at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC). This is a Full Time position. ORMC is Central Florida's premier provider of advanced surgical, medical, rehabilitative, and emergency care, and the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center. The Med Surg Vision is to have a top-functioning inpatient nursing unit with the most qualified, caring, and engaged team members focused on growth and development. South Tower 5A/5C Medical Surgical units at ORMC have a maximum capacity of 52 semi-private beds and care for a diverse patient population with non-critical status, including long-term, pending placement, or skilled nursing facility needs, as well as surgical, medical management, and disease processes such as hypertension, pneumonia, COVID-19, and diabetes. The units also provide cardiac monitoring with remote telemetry and safely transfer critically ill patients to stepdown/critical care units if necessary. The ideal nurse to patient ratio is 5:1, and the nursing assistant to patient ratio is 8:1. There is a Charge Nurse on 5A and a Charge Nurse on 5C with no patient assignment. The Registered Nurse administers patient care in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting where acute care patients receive active treatment for injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, or post-intervention with assessment.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department.
Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP required for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Nice To Haves

6 months Med-Surg experience preferred.
