About The Position

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Medsurg unit. This role is part of the Health Support Center (HSC) team, which supports those in facilities who are interfacing and providing care to patients and community members. The 22-bed Med Surge unit is split onto two floors with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5/6 and is staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Patient Sitters. They provide care for a variety of patients including those on dialysis, diabetes, heart disease, geriatric patients, and recovering surgical patients.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Nursing degree from an accredited program
• BLS required
• ACLS required

Nice To Haves

• 1 year RN experience preferred
• New grad RNs welcomed

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
