About The Position

As a Registered Nurse, you’ll join a collaborative, highly skilled team where your expertise, compassion, and dedication directly impact patient outcomes every day. Our 10-room surgical suite supports a wide range of specialties with 17 surgeons utilizing block time. Nurses have the opportunity to circulate and assist in procedures across Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Urology, ENT, Spine, and Pulmonary. We are proud to utilize advanced technology, including Mako and da Vinci robotic systems, reflecting our commitment to best practices and a patient-first approach. With many nurses on the unit having 15+ years of experience, mentorship and hands-on training are readily available. Our strong multidisciplinary teamwork sets us apart, with a shared goal of delivering safe, high-quality, compassionate care close to home.

Requirements

  • Current VA RN license
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures.
  • Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies. Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.
  • Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
  • Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment.
  • Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
