Registered Nurse - OR ((MB, FT, 12hr/8 hr, day shift)
About The Position
Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, carries out established nursing procedures, and performs related duties as required. Provides nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision and assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. Call is required. Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors and carrying out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC MGR 1 for overall work performance.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of recent Adult Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience.
- Proficiency in open, laparoscopic, and intuitive robotic surgery.
- Proficiency in scrubbing surgical procedures.
- Proficiency in circulating duties; call required.
- Experience in General Surgery, Ortho, Neuro, OHNS, GU, GYN, Breast/Plastics, and Endoscopy.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Well organized and detail oriented, with the ability to multitask and work independently and under pressure.
- Basic computer skills and general PC knowledge.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
