Registered Nurse - OR - Days
About The Position
Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $37.25 base pay hourly rate beginning with the second paycheck in October. This full-time position is located in Chicago, IL, and involves day shifts (7a to 3:30p M-F) with on-call requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
- Communicates effectively and is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
- Current Illinois Nursing licensure
- American Heart Association CPR Certification
- ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of nursing experience is preferred.
- Sign on bonus: 5K for prior OR experience
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families.
- Maintains competency reflective of current standards practice.
- Interacts and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
- Integrates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
- Recognizes and adjusts to situations that vary from the norm.
- Promotes safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
- Guides and supervises staff in the provision of patient care.
- Enhances own professional growth and development.
- Maintains a safe therapeutic working environment and recognizes need for action in emergency situations.
- Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed.
- Assists in positioning and responds to safety of patient.
- Provides for accurate care and handling of specimens.
- Observes, checks and enforces strict standards of asepsis.
- Observes, checks and monitors all equipment used during surgery to confirm that items are functioning properly.
- Document intra operatively in Epic.
- Conducts appropriate surgical counts.
- Selects and handles instruments and supplies used for the operation, passing them to the surgeon.
