About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with Scrub/Circulate experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Windsor, VT. This role involves providing specialized care in the Surgical Services department, which includes general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, pain, and endoscopy procedures. The department has 2 operating rooms and a procedure room, primarily handling outpatient procedures with limited inpatient cases. The nurses provide care to patients aged 16 and older.

Requirements

Minimum 2-5 years of experience
Scrubbing and Circulating experience - BOTH specialty skill checklists MUST be in profile
Must have their own vehicle (firm requirement)
Experience working in a smaller OR facility
Phase I/PACU experience
CERNER EMR EXPERIENCE required
MULTIPLE SURGICAL EXPERIENCE is required
ACLS (AHA) certification
Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
Must be able to work TWO blocks (if scheduled/needed): Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and weekend after, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and weekend after, New Year Eve through New Year Day and weekend after
CATARACT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS NEED. NON-NEGOTIABLE

Responsibilities

Working with patients prior to surgery to complete paperwork, and help answer questions or calm fears about surgery
Monitoring a patient’s condition during and after surgery
Selecting and passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon during operation (sometimes referred to as a scrub nurse)
Managing the overall nursing care in the operating room to help maintain a safe and comfortable environment (sometimes referred to as a circulating nurse)
Educating patients on best practices for recovery, including pain management and keeping wounds clean
Cleaning surgical equipment and operating rooms to maintain a sterile environment
