This position serves as a clinical expert, promoting evidence-based practice and hospital initiatives. The role involves acting as a primary preceptor for new graduate nurses and new hires, and is responsible for developing the orientation process for new nurses. The nurse will participate in the development of interdisciplinary care plans, collaborating with various departments to coordinate patient care. This role also includes mentoring, coaching, and educating staff, conducting safety huddles, facilitating learning using Benner's model and adult learning principles, and resolving conflicts. The nurse will participate in Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) processes, schedule assessments and goals for staff, and collaborate with clinical education and the Nurse Executive to improve staff competencies. Additionally, the role requires completing all yearly Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) required training and assisting with compliance with CMS standards. Other duties as assigned.
