Under the supervision of the nursing department's management, the RN assumes the responsibility for the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation needed to deliver safe, evidence based care within their scope of practice. The RN provides direct patient care in the inpatient perioperative setting. Works collaboratively with the physician and the anesthesia health care providers to determine patient needs undergoing surgical procedures and to assume responsibility for patient care, document and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing actions and ensure a safe environment of care. Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
