The Operating Room is a direct care unit providing care to the surgical patient during the intraoperative process. Nurses and techs are responsible for ensuring instrumentation and equipment are functional and available, ensuring the sterility of instrumentation and equipment, assist the surgeon and anesthesia to provide for a safe and efficient process. Our OR department consists of both the Main Hospital and ASC locations. Our main hospital setting currently consists of 6 rooms which will be 7 rooms once our hybrid OR opens. This location includes robotics and open-heart. Our ASC (ambulatory surgery center) has 6 rooms and is located on the main campus at Arnett Hospital. Our nurses will be required to care for patients at both locations in our intraoperative services. Our patient population includes general, cardiac, orthopedics, neurology, gynecology, ENT, podiatry, and plastic surgery. This unit does have an on-call requirement.
